The Worst Attacking Teams in the Final Third in MLS

And yay! Now we get to look into all the teams with problems in MLS. Nearly all of these teams have had injuries, which being in MLS with all the traveling and different playing environments, you need to have depth on your roster. Inter Miami have lost two of their most important midfielders with Gregore and Jean Mota, TFC have been without both of their starting centerbacks, their starting defensive midfielder, and their two Italian DP’s for extended periods of the season, and it feels like the Timbers have had all of their roster hurt at some point in the season. As for some of these other teams, it’s been not having a starting caliber #9. You look at NYCFC who only have just one center forward on their roster, the Houston Dynamo who spent $4.3M on Sebas Ferreira, but he hasn’t scored yet this season, and then CF Montreal who had their leading goalscorer from last season, Romell Quioto, out with a long-term hamstring injury. These two points obviously aren’t the only reasons why these teams have struggled to create chances this season, but they reiterate two strong points in MLS 1) have depth on your roster and 2) spend quality time and money evaluating incoming 9’s because they need to hit.
